About the Role:

We're seeking a warm-hearted and supportive Van Driver to facilitate safe transportation for our Tamariki. The ideal candidate will be energetic, committed, and an excellent driver, holding a full NZ driver’s license for at least two years with a clean police record.

Previous experience working with children is essential, as is a cheerful, trustworthy, warm, and caring nature. Physical fitness, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse community are also required. The right candidate will be responsible, demonstrate a solid work ethic, and be capable of making sound decisions independently.

Located on Winiata Terrace, a peaceful cul-de-sac near Red Hill in Papakura, our center is conveniently situated close to Ardmore, Hunua, and Papakura township. At BestStart Papakura East Kindy, we pride ourselves on being a sanctuary of Trust, Learning, and Love.

Our culturally diverse centre offers an inspiring environment akin to a home, where our young learners are encouraged to create, explore, and investigate freely. As our van driver, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our Tamariki have the opportunity to experience these enriching learning moments by safely transporting them to and from our centre every day.

This is a permanent part time position working 20 hours per week Monday-Friday (8-10am to 2-4pm) - with the opportunity for some more hours on a casual basis working with our tamariki on the floor between 10am - 2pm.

We are looking for someone who is;

Enthusiastic, reliable, trustworthy, warm and caring
An experienced driver with a full driver’s license and a clean police record
Able to build positive relationships with children and whanau
An excellent communicator and able to form positive relationships with a diverse community
