Maintenance Fitter
Western Bay of Plenty
Hours: Monday to Friday, Rotating on-call weekends
Shifts: Between 4:30 am – 5:30 pm or rotating night shift from 1:30 pm to 12 am
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join a dynamic team in the Western Bay of Plenty. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced fitter’s to apply their skills in an essential role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving equipment at a key manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct regular preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment, minimising downtime and ensuring optimal functioning.
- Project Work: Carry out and facilitate construction and upgrade projects on site, interpreting plans, executing project schedules, and ensuring compliance with success criteria.
- Job Orders & Reporting: Accurately track job orders, record timekeeping, and manage parts allocation, while ensuring maintenance requests are completed efficiently and on time.
- Health & Safety: Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for hazardous tasks, adhere to lock-out procedures and uphold safety standards on site.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Level 4)
- Minimum of 4 years’ related experience in mechanical engineering
- Hands-on experience in fabrication, machining, and fitting
- Strong knowledge of machine maintenance and repair
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans
- Strong understanding of health and safety standards

Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 25kgs
- Capable of standing for long periods (up to 10 hours)
- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the workday
- Able to work in varying temperatures and noisy environments
