About The Role

Position: Gearstore Equipment Coordinator

Are you an experienced equipment coordinator looking for a new challenge? Qube is seeking an Equipment Coordinator to play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the performance of our equipment used in loading and unloading cargo. Mechanical engineering capabilities are required to support the workshop and ensure optimal equipment function. If you have a passion for safety, reliability, and teamwork, we want to hear from you!

Location: Napier Port

Status: Monday to Friday 9 hour shifts with callout availability

Your job duties would be:

  • Prepare, repair, and maintain all gear store equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct pre-operation safety checks, maintain a tidy gear store, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Oversee equipment inventory, conduct regular inspections, and coordinate timely delivery and recovery of equipment after each vessel.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, submit timesheets and leave forms, and process equipment requests.
  • Work closely with operational teams, suppliers, and maintenance personnel to fulfill equipment needs for upcoming projects and ongoing operations.


You will also need to:

  • Level 3 Trade certificate as a minimum
  • Physically fit and strong, with the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in equipment management, maintenance, or operations in the maritime or stevedoring industry.
  • Desire to upskill and undertake further training to enhance job performance.
  • Drivers license and your own transport
