We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Sales Manager for a busy dealership in Napier. In this role you will be reporting directly to the Sales Manager where the role will involve a mix of leadership, sales strategy, and you can also sell enabling you to earn a generous commission.

Responsibilities within this role

  • Support the Sales Manager in overseeing the sales team, helping to set and achieve sales targets and fostering a motivated sales environment
  • Conduct regular training sessions for new and existing sales staff to enhance their product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Engage with customers to provide exceptional service, handle enquiries, and resolve any issues that arise during the buying process
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop and implement effective sales strategies and promotions tailored to the local market
  • Track sales metrics and prepare reports for the Sales Manager to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist in managing vehicle inventory ensuring that the dealership has the right mix of vehicles to meet customer demand



The successful candidate will have the following

  • A background in automotive sales would be advantageous though we would consider applicants with experience in other relevant industries
  • Experience in a supervisory role or a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team or someone looking to make their first move to management
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and collaborating with the sales team.

  • Quick and effective resolution of customer issues and sales challenges.
