The mission of the CPIU is to enhance Oranga Tamariki's ability to ensure children in its care are safe from harm.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The CPIU's Data Analyst will be responsible for the provision of high-quality information and advice to support the investigations, reviews and projects of the CPIU and assist the development of intelligence driven processes and operations. They will collate from a wide range of systems and tools and will be required to engage with a variety of kaimahi to achieve this.

This role is based in our Wellington office. Due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role, it will be beneficial for you to have the close support of the team around you. Candidates for this role are required to already be based in the Wellington region or be willing to relocate to Wellington region for this opportunity.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

You will be someone with initiative that is experienced at pulling data from various systems and collating so it can be translated for senior leadership and other stakeholders. Through your sound knowledge of analysis, processes and techniques you will be delivery focused and used to operating in an ambiguous environment.

Key requirements of the role will also include but are not limited to:

  • Experience in computer tools in the areas of information management, and specialised intelligence software
  • Always operates with sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Excellent attention to detail, both written and numerical, and commitment to quality
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant public sector legislation applicable to the role
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture and their community circumstances.
