Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Sales & Underwriting Manager to lead our team of Business Development Managers and Underwriters. In this pivotal role, you will manage external broker relationships and provide strategic sales direction to drive profitable growth and retention of broker business.

As a key leader, you’ll inspire and develop your team, showcasing exceptional relationship management skills both internally and externally. You’ll craft and execute innovative business development plans that focus on retention, growth, and delivering market-leading service, all while contributing to the overall NZI strategy. Your commitment to excellence will ensure quality customer outcomes and adherence to governance and operational risk standards. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to out IAG office in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Ōu Pūkenga | About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally meet the below criteria:

• Sound technical underwriting skills particularly in the area of underwriting broker sourced business.
• Experience in sales distribution within the New Zealand insurance industry.
• Experience in building relationships in the insurance broker market.
• Experience in managing, developing and coaching high performing teams.
• Experience in the New Zealand general insurance market in particular relation to commercial insurance, product management, competitor activity and insurance underwriting.
• Ideally ANZIIF certified.
