We’re looking for a friendly, motivated Management Accountant to join our awesome team. This is a permanent part time position.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Management Accountant to join our team at Blackley. This position will focus on providing critical financial and management information to assist in strategic decision-making and ensure smooth financial operations.

Position Objectives:

The Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate financial analysis, job costing, and reporting. You will play a key role in financial decision-making by providing detailed insights into financial performance, profitability, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and variance analysis for both companies.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing actionable insights for management.
  • Support budget preparation and regular forecasting activities.


Job Costing:

  • Develop and maintain accurate job costings for current and upcoming projects.
  • Provide detailed reports on job profitability, overhead allocation, and cost variances.


Cash Flow Management:

  • Ensure cash flow is managed effectively, with regular updates and forecasts.
  • Assist in capital expenditure planning and monitor cash availability for both companies.


Financial Systems Management:

  • Administer and maintain financial systems, including Xero and WorkflowMax, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Oversee monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, GST, and other financial entries.


Budgets & Forecasts:

  • Assist in preparing detailed budgets for the company and monitor actual performance against projections.
  • Provide financial forecasts and suggestions to improve cost efficiencies.


Payables and Receivables:

  • Ensure timely processing of payables and receivables and manage overdue accounts.
  • Monitor and report on retention balances and progress payments.


Ad-hoc Financial Duties:

  • Respond to various ad-hoc management requests for financial information and analysis.
  • Assist with annual insurance renewals, tax filings (GST, FBT), and liaise with accountants as required.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., CA/CPA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in management accounting or a similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of financial and management reporting principles.


Skills:

  • Expertise in financial systems (Xero and Workflow Max experience is highly advantageous).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.


Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
