Our teams are our greatest asset and we are committed to employing and training the best people. NZCL team is looking for energetic and motivated people to support people in their own home.

We are looking for two part time support workers in our Gisborne homes. The roster for a male support worker would be Wednesday 4-6pm, Thursday 9.30-11.30am, Friday 9.30-11.30am, Saturday 9-11am and 11.30-1.30pm. The roster for a female support worker would be Saturday 1-3pm and Sunday 10-2pm and 2.30-4.30pm.

You will support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless!

  • People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding.
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience working with youth.
  • Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential.
  • A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes.
  • Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
