About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Chef to work at our Defence site at the Linton Military Camp Palmerston North. Hours of work are Permanent Full-time, rostered across 7 days per week, including day and night shifts.

You will be responsible for:

• preparing, cooking and serving of meals and ensuring the quality of every dish we serve!
• be able to cook within budget
• assist with ordering and menu development
• ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.

Ideal skills and experience you will have:

• 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchen catering for many people
• well experienced with short order cooking
• hold the relevant qualifications including food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167)
• the ability to lead and mentor a team as well
• the ability to work independently and confidently
• demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
