Mō te tūnga | About the role
National Road Policing Centre (NRPC) is an essential part of the road safety sector and is focused on reducing deaths and serious injuries through the delivery of road safety prevention, education and enforcement activities. NRPC provides important services to the Commissioner, Police Executive and Districts in respect of the prevention of serious injury and death on our roads.
The NRPC has a reputation for subject matter expertise and for scientific integrity in relation to road safety. As the Manager Intelligence and Performance, within the Insights & Learning Group, you will lead a high performing team made up of Intelligence, Insights & Performance and Spatial Analysts with responsibility for the delivery of robust and insightful products across a range of analytical areas. The products will be used to inform deployment and to underpin advice provided to police districts and other stakeholders relating to effective strategic interventions in road safety.
Your role will be to oversee and provide excellent leadership to the Intelligence and Performance team enabling them to focus on the delivery of exceptional strategic, tactical and operational products.
Key Accountabilities:
- Leadership of our organisational priorities and the strategy as captured in Our Business and enablement of our people to deliver on it.
- Create and continually develop a high-performance environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and flexibility.
- Skilled communication and collaboration with a wide range of internal and external partners including police districts, other government agencies, and non-government partner agencies.
- Proven leadership in maintaining a nimble, flexible and deployable workforce and developing leadership capabilities across the group.
He aha taau e kawe mai | What you’ll bring
- Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.
- You will be able to demonstrate a wide scope of leadership ability, preferably across varying roles and be able to foster an environment of high performance.
- We are not necessarily looking for a subject matter expert in Intelligence, we are more interested in a proven ability to lead and partner at a strategic level.
- This role is set at Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is “to lead tactics for Our Business and enable people to deliver them”.
