Ventia are seeking a National Technical Compliance Manager to support their Energy Networks and Renewables business in New Zealand.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company, its employees, managers, and projects adhere to all relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety, environmental, legal, quality, and ethical policies. You will focus on implementing and maintaining compulsory regulatory requirements across the business.

In addition, you will develop a comprehensive framework for technical assurance and compliance monitoring, driving the delivery of these initiatives with clear reporting and actionable outcomes. You will lead these efforts with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include

  • Ensure the company’s operations align with industry regulations and internal procedures.
  • Reconcile industry documents to Ventia’s procedures, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are accurately reflected in company practices.
  • Provide advisory support to teams, offering expert guidance on compliance-related matters and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Conduct technical reviews, closely analysing processes and documentation to ensure they meet required standards.
  • When issues arise, lead investigations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to maintain compliance and improve performance.


All of these activities are carried out with a focus on continuous improvement, ensuring that Ventia remains at the forefront of regulatory adherence and operational excellence.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate for this role should have solid years of experience in the Electricity Supply Transmission Substations, Generation, and/or Distribution Network areas. They must hold an Electricity Supply L4 qualification (or higher) or an equivalent qualification, as well as an EWRB electrical worker registration. The candidate should either already hold or be eligible to hold a practising licence. A commitment to professional development is required, including the willingness to work towards achieving unit standard 4098, which focuses on using standards to assess candidate performance. A strong safety ethic is essential, as well as good communication skills to effectively engage with all levels within the organisation. The role also requires regular travel to work sites and depots. Finally, the successful candidate should either hold or be willing to work towards completing an adult education qualification to enhance their skills and expertise in the field.
