About the Role:
We are seeking a Workshop Mechanic to join a passionate team, working on road transport vehicles and light automotive repairs. This is a workshop-based role and also involves on-site work, providing plenty of variety throughout the week.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on road transport and light automotive vehicles.
  • Perform pre-COF inspections to ensure NZTA compliance.
  • Complete tyre fitting, balancing, and repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair suspension, brakes, steering, and drivetrain components.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
  • Work on trucks, trailers, utes, and other fleet vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate job records and documentation.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are always followed.
  • Assist with on-site breakdowns and field repairs as required.
  • Mentoring of younger staff members and providing guidance.
  • On-site servicing call ours for and repairs for material handling/container handling equipment.
  • Scheduled travel opportunities across the South Island


What We’re Looking For:

  • Trade-certified mechanic (Automotive, Heavy Diesel, or relevant field)
  • WOF/COF Inspector qualification highly desirable
  • Experience working with forklifts, straddles, material handling, or transport equipment is a bonus
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions with emphasis on commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads efficiently to complete tasks and capable of working under pressure at times
  • Class 2, 4, 5 licenses with W, T, R, F endorsements (preferred but not essential)
  • Certifications such as Working at Heights, EWP, and Forklift OSH (advantageous)
