About the Role

As the Practice Lead for End User Environments, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of systems engineers focused on the support, delivery, and improvement of enterprise-scale end user environments. This includes physical and virtual devices, operating systems, remote access tools, collaboration tools, and digital learning environments.

You’ll bring leadership experience in managing technical teams, alongside a strong understanding of digital learning systems or platforms—either through direct support or through leadership of relevant teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys driving capability uplift, operational improvements, and positive user experiences.

This is a hybrid role based in Palmerston North, requiring on-site work at least two days per week.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of systems engineers
  • Oversee the management and evolution of end user environments and related support tools
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure digital learning systems are robust and effective
  • Drive best practice in infrastructure service delivery and support
  • Provide strategic input into the future direction of digital platforms and services


Skills and Experience Required

  • A tertiary qualification in IT or Business Management, or equivalent industry experience
  • Industry-recognised certification in IT infrastructure (practitioner or manager level)
  • 7+ years’ experience in IT with expertise in enterprise infrastructure design and support
  • Strong background in digital or e-learning platforms
  • Proven experience building and leading cohesive technical teams
  • Familiarity with strategic IT issues in education or the public sector
