Welshy Contracting is a family-owned and operated company based in Ashburton, Canterbury.

The Role

We have a position open for a tractor operator to join our team, working on farms performing rut busting, muck spreading, hedge cutting, and more. We are looking for someone eager to learn and operate other machinery such as diggers, backhoes, and bulldozers.

Experience is an advantage, but we are willing to train the right candidate and provide the necessary courses and certifications.

This is a full-time, permanent position available for an immediate start. Our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday work.

Job Details

• Operate tractors, trailers, and other machinery
• Perform machinery maintenance
• Work as part of a team while also being able to work independently
• Maintain a positive attitude toward Health and Safety

Requirements

• Current NZ Driver’s License
• WTR Endorsement (advantageous but not essential)
• Mechanical knowledge (advantageous)
