About the role:
Our Distribution Centre in Christchurch services both regional and national customers with hundreds of deliveries of our Mico products every day.
We are seeking an Assistant DC Operations Manager to help lead our team across Inbound and Outbound operations to ensure we exceed customer expectations. They will provide effective leadership to the team ensuring the alignment with our goals and objectives, while also actively contributing to maintaining a culture of health and safety excellence.
This is a Hands-on Role which will see you
- Acting as the key point of contact for the DC team.
- Ensure that every individual receives an appropriate induction and training.
- Ensure data integrity is maintained during all DC operations and inventory management activities.
- Leading the inbound / outbound team of warehouse operators
- Ensuring the entire inbound / outbound process is running efficiently with the team managing conflicting priorities effectively (receipting, stock arrivals, container devanning & H&S)
- Assist the Logistics Manager with operational improvement projects, initiatives, and activities.
- Always comply with company policies and procedures.
This role is a full-time permanent role offering 40 hours a week Monday-Friday
About you:
- Minimum 5 years team leadership experience in a warehouse or a similar logistics environment.
- Holding a Full class 1 driver licence is essential and forklift licence (F endorsed or OSH) is preferable
- Have sound communication and numeracy skills with good attention to detail
- An MPI Bio Security Accreditation is preferred
- A can-do attitude, with the ability to juggle multiple prioritise in a deadline driven environment
- Computer savvy with experience using a Warehouse Management System
