Job Description

Ko wai mātou – About us
Kia ora. We’re Foodies. You know New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square right? That’s us! With 300+ stores and over 24,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Maui, our North Island Co-op has the privilege of helping New Zealanders get more out of life. Locally owned, we reflect the communities we serve, and we celebrate our people - our taonga, every day for being uniquely them.

Responsible for identifying new site opportunities for future stores, development and design of new stores, management, maintenance and refurbishment of existing stores, plus seismic remediation, refrigeration upgrades, energy efficiency and maintenance, the Foodies Property team are focussed on supporting members and the co-op to deliver for our customers every day.

Te Tūranga – About the role
As the Store Format Technical Lead you’ll develop and maintain our design and documentation standards across our multiple banners and ensure a consistent and cost-effective implementation across all retail assets.

To achieve this, some of your responsibilities will be to:
· Work closely with the Design Manager to manage, develop, implement and maintain standards & guidelines.
· Ensure standards and guidelines clearly define minimum and mandatory requirements regarding the functional, operational and health & safety aspects of stores, reflecting FSNI & industry best practices.
· Help to manage, develop, implement and maintain the format strategy for Membership & Property. Ensure that each respective Banner is maximised by carefully considering factors such as retail layout, range, and promotions to support business sales and profitability targets.
· Ensure the goals & objectives of each respective Banner are clearly understood and reflected in the Store Design Kits.

He kōrero mōu - About you
You’ll be a natural problem solver with thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant codes, New Zealand Standards and New Zealand Building Code requirements. As well as knowledge and understanding of Food Safety and Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) 2015 legislation so you can ensure our Store Format, Brand Standards and all supporting documentation comply.

You’ll also have:
· Proficiency in Design Software: Thorough knowledge of AutoDesk Revit, BIM360 for collaboration, SketchUp, Adobe Suite and other design-focused applications
· Store Development Expertise - Understanding of the store development process and retail metrics.
· The ability to manage ambiguity and consider alternative points of view in the design and decision-making process.
· Stakeholder Management and the ability to manage multiple, diverse stakeholders.
· Understanding of Safety in Design principles and Health & Safety (H&S) in the workplace.
· Demonstrated experience in the building industry, well versed with the New Zealand Building Code, Standards, and relevant legislative requirements.
· Construction Management: Familiarity with construction management platforms such as Procore or Aconex.
