Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Business Third Party team is responsible for working proactively with Third Party Advisers, supporting their customers to establish or build a Westpac banking relationship. Business Managers, Business Third Party work as part of a team of lenders to deliver consistently excellent service to our Third Party Advisers and ultimately their Business customers. It is the responsibility of the Business Manager to assess lending transactions referred to Westpac through the Third Party channel, for our accredited Mortgage Advisers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessment of lending applications for business customers received via third party channels.
- Confidently reach out to Third Party Advisers to discuss the application, request any additional information required, and ultimately structure the lending application to approval stage.
- Working with the Senior Business Managers, Business Third Party, to prioritise workflow, and ‘deal team’ opportunities if required.
- Working with the Business Third Party Consultant team to complete any conditions related to a Lending Offer, and move to onboarding and drawdown stage
- Build strong relationships with Mortgage Advisers over time.
- Proactively working on your Personal Development to build your Confidence, Capability, and Capacity in the role.
- Working as part of a team to ensure the objectives of the wider Business Third Party team are achieved.
- Bringing a positive attitude and behaviours to work that contribute to a high-performance team culture.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- A sound understanding of Business customers and their needs.
- Previous experience with the NZLO lending system with knowledge of business and residential lending
- Sound knowledge of Westpac’s products and services, particularly the ability to structure complex business lending deals.
- Solid understanding of pricing, compliance, credit risk and security documentation and ability to interpret business financial information.
- Proven ability to build relationships with customers and other external stakeholders with a reputation for delivering excellent service.
- Highly developed business acumen which translates into the ability to represent Business Bank in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry, including 3+ years banking experience, preferably within a Business Banking environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience engaging with business partners across the wider bank.
- Ability to take ownership to act independently within agreed frameworks.
- Ability to build networks both internally and externally and communicate with confidence.
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business preferred.
