Manager, Financial Crime Analytics Projects (12-Months Fixed Term Contract)

Sitting within ASB's Financial Crime Compliance division, our Financial Crime Projects team are leading initiatives related to Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring and Financial Crime related models.

Mo te tūranga | About the Roles:

ASB's Financial Crime Projects team has a wide remit across Financial Crime, with a particular focus on Anti Money Laundering (AML). The team works to identify, assess, report and manage activity relating to money laundering and terrorism financing, ensuring the financial safety our customers. Ideally you will have previous experience in the field, but we really want you to bring your strong Analytics skills and IT background and be open to learning more about Financial Crime.

We have an exciting opportunity in the Financial Crime Projects area to lead the building of dashboards and reporting key to supporting our ongoing projects. This role will inform how our team, and ASB as a whole, assesses and responds to financial crime risks. This role is fixed term and will report to the Senior Manager Financial Crime Projects, and will:

Be responsible for designing and implementing dashboards and reporting related to high impact areas for Financial Crime.
You will also have the opportunity to become involved in more general analytics work relating to Financial Crime compliance at ASB. This is a growing area of specialisation, and one that offers incredibly varied and challenging work.
We are looking for someone with a strong Analytics background, who is comfortable building reports and identifying risks and trends.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful?:

  • Be able to clearly explain technical concepts, so it is important that you are a confident communicator, a key part of our success is engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics and reporting development/management.
  • You will have experience in a range of current analytics tools such as SQL, SAS and R, and use of other tools to extract and utilise complex data sets from a range of data sources.
  • Experience with risk management frameworks.
  • A background within Financial Services, Financial Crime, AML and/or Fraud is preferable but not essential, and a keen interest in learning more about Financial Crime, AML and Financial Services more generally.
  • Strong continuous improvement mind-set and previous project and change management experience are required.
  • Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or similar preferred.
