Job Description
About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga
The Manager Organisational Communications, within our Public Affairs business unit, is a key leadership role focused on management and coordination of MPI's internal communications and graphic design functions. You will provide advice to key business units across MPI and play a key role in driving the organisation's strategic positioning.
Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to support our senior leaders from our Wellington office.
Key focus areas of the role are to:
- Provide a focus for, and leadership of, MPI's Organisational Communications team supporting organisation-wide communications and the design team responsible for engaging digital content, brand identity and document publication.
- Manage engagement with MPI's strategy, story, and visual identity for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure robust processes for communication, engagement, learning and development and performance management are implemented within the team.
- Manage all resources and outcomes within the function through the effective implementation of organisational processes and procedures (e.g. health and safety, recruitment, financial, planning, monitoring, and measuring, reporting).

Additionally, you will offer:
- Strong experience within the public sector, with a love for visual communication
- Proven ability to take a strategic, proactive approach in the management of reputational issues, internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to identify and understand internal and external customer needs and adapt style and language to meet them.
- Proven ability to actively engage with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders to shape engagement approaches, including working with media and issues management.
- Knowledge, and preferably experience of, internal and corporate communications best practices and the impact they have on raising engagement and collaborative behaviour.
- Adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to see the bigger picture.

About the Team - Mō tō mātou Rōpū
The Manager Organisational Communications leads a team of two senior internal communications advisors and four designers (three senior designers and one designer) working across the breadth of MPI's business units.
