About the role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga

The Change Manage is a varied role combining positive engagement, creativity and development with strategy, planning, execution and analysis. With a national focus, you will develop, drive and implement projects and programmes to support Biosecurity New Zealand's frontline service delivery at the border. This role supports three commissioners to deliver joined up work programmes and achieve strategic and operational goals.

This is a hands-on role that delivers strategic and operational outcomes including drafting business case documents, progress reports, change plans, workforce plans, creating strategies and drafting communications tailored to the different stakeholder groups. There is a continuous improvement focus on analysing current workflows, processes and outcomes to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement nationally.

You will oversee and report on directorate-level change initiatives, maximising adoption, minimising change fatigue and ensuring seamless integration of changes. Some examples of the types of initiatives you will be delivering are the digital border enhancements, workforce plans, operational process changes and many others. This will also include monitoring and evaluating change effectiveness, implementing continuous improvement processes to enhance change outcomes and operational efficacy.

You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure processes are mapped, operational risks and issues are managed and there is a comprehensive shared understanding of accountabilities and deliverables to get results.

About You - Mōu

You are experienced in leading and delivering initiatives that help drive innovation and efficiency, developing new processes and plans that help streamline operational delivery. Known as an enabler, you have a track record of removing barriers, influencing positive outcomes and getting results. You have strong analysis skills, considering risks and all possible solutions (i.e. digital, process changes, technology enhancements, capability, workforce etc).

You will bring extensive experience in business improvement, programme delivery including effective change management You enjoy being busy, delivering outcomes and bringing people along with you on the journey.

You will have advanced writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with previous experience writing business cases, executive/senior leadership level documents with the ability to communicate complex issues to a range of audiences. You can facilitate positive discussions and collaborative working groups.
