We have a transport client seeking a class 5 driver to cart containers, steel and general freight from their Rolleston depot around the wider Canterbury region.

This is an on-call temporary assignment

You will be required to work any day throughout the week between 6.00am to 6.00pm (10-12hr shifts).

In order to be successful for this role, you must have at least 1 years' class 5 driving experience within the transport industry and have good reversing skills.

Hours of work:
Any days of the week from 7:30am-5:00pm (hours subject to change, depending on workloads).

The starting pay rate for this position is up to $35.00 p/h depending on experience

Duties include:

• Driving a class 5 (automatic) truck
• Delivering general freight
• Manually load/unload truck and stack boxes
• Must be physically fit & capable of lifting up to 25kgs
• PDA use (tablet)

Job Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 driver's licence
• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Proven driving experience confirmed by two references
• Ability to labour - lifting up to 25kgs
• Have good knowledge of the Christchurch area
• Be trustworthy and have great customer service
