He angitūtanga: The Opportunity
This role sits in the regulatory support team within the Building Consent Department. You will collaborate closely with your peers and Team Leader to help achieve our business objectives. This role will see you sharing knowledge, supporting and upskilling your colleagues across various building consent processes. This includes lodgement through to issuance, ensuring that our services are delivered in compliance with statutory requirements.

You could expect to work on:

  • Managing customer escalations, including data analysis and investigation related to financial disputes, invoicing, and overall customer outcomes.
  • Understanding legal instruments and dependencies within our end-to-end processes.
  • Providing support for core end-to-end process management within the team.
  • Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships across different units and departments within Auckland Council.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You will have an eye for detail. You will be used to working within high-pressure environments, being adaptable and working well to meet targets. Ideally, you will have at least 5 years of experience working in business administration /customers service roles. Previous background in regulatory and knowledge of the Building Act 2004 is desirable.

We will be looking for specific experience with these key role requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, customer focused, and committed to maintaining a high standard of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Experience managing financial account reconciliations, customer disputes, and interim billing processes.
  • Proven ability to train and upskill peers in line with internal policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in working with complex databases and information, with strong competency in Microsoft Office, CRM, SAP, and Hybris systems.
  • Experience end to end for support functions for Building Consents or Code Compliance Certificates is an advantage.
