Job Description

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join their Civil Southern team based in Hornby, Christchurch, working on a variety of projects across Canterbury.

As an experienced and driven Project Manager, you will provide senior leadership across a number of exciting and diverse civil construction projects. You will take full ownership of project outcomes, ensuring successful and safe delivery with a strong focus on service quality. Our client needs someone who can hit the ground running!

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality civil projects within budget and time constraints, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Providing specialized technical advice when needed.
  • Managing and motivating effective project teams and subcontractors.
  • Championing health and safety standards.
  • Collaborating with managers and stakeholders to achieve project goals.


Skills and experience that will ensure your success:

  • A Civil Engineering degree, equivalent qualification, or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience working on NZTA projects will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing projects such as water, pump stations, treatment plants, utilities, roading, deep trenching, and other civil construction projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Financial acumen to manage and deliver projects within budget.
  • Experience leading a diverse team and handling a range of projects.
