Adviser – Wealth Quality Assurance

  • Full-time, permanent role
  • Can be based at our office in either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch
  • Hybrid role – mixture of work from home and office


Mō te Tūranga – About the role
The Advice Quality & Governance Team plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial advice to Westpac's customers and staff. As a trusted business partner and subject matter experts, you’ll work closely with Wealth Office Advisers, Wealth Consultants, and the Leadership Team to provide timely guidance, training, and support. To be successful in this role, you'll need to be a collaborative and strategic thinker who can drive business outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of advice quality and governance.

Your key responsibilities include reviewing and quality-assuring financial advice documents to ensure they meet regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal business rules. You will also provide specialist input on complex customer situations, write and peer-review advice documents, and engage in additional workstreams that add value to the advice process. The focus on quality, governance, and collaboration enables Westpac to deliver exceptional financial advice and services to our customers.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? – What do I need to be successful?

  • At least five years’ experience in the financial services industry, with excellent knowledge of the financial advice process, industry legislation/best practice, customer needs and investment products.
  • 3 years’ plus experience in a similar role (i.e. quality assuring financial advice).
  • Graduate Diploma in Personal Financial Planning or New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5 – Investment strand).
  • Good knowledge of MS office products – (Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams etc).
  • Superior customer service, communication, and analytical skills with refined attention to detail.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (preferred).
  • Experience working with XPLAN software or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (preferred).
