ACCOUNTS & BOARD ADMINISTRATOR

  • 5 hours + per week (additional hours as required)

ABOUT NORTH TARANAKI SPORT & REC INC:
North Taranaki Sport & Recreation Inc. (NTSR) is dedicated to fostering community well-being through sports and recreation. We manage and develop facilities and programs that enhance the quality of life for the people of Waitara and the surrounding North Taranaki district.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounts Administrator oversees financial & administrative operations for North Taranaki Sport & Recreation Inc.

  • Key duties involve the Finance, Payroll and Administrative functions required to meet best practice and compliance requirements of the organisation.
  • The role also supports funding efforts by assisting with applications and accountability reports.
  • The ideal candidate ensures accurate financial record-keeping, provides operational support, and collaborates closely with the Operations Manager and Society Treasurer.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential to maintaining the organisation’s financial & administrative integrity and efficiency.


The role also entails overseeing the administration duties of the NTSRINC Board:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance, HR & Administration

  • Maintaining the Xero accounting software including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage and reimburse the petty cash
  • Document storage of all Financial and Administration documents as appropriate
  • Preparation & filing of two monthly GST returns
  • Prepare payroll on a fortnightly basis using Smartly software
  • Payment of monthly creditors and expense reimbursements
  • Overseeing all booking and facility hireage bookings and reconciliation to Xero invoicing
  • Invoicing out lease & administration services and grants
  • Debtors collection
  • Complete monthly financial close off and prepare the monthly management reports for distribution to the Operations Manager and Board
  • Provide Board support including attending Board meetings to record the minutes in writing/typed, and assist the Chair to collate and distribute Board meeting papers and documents before, during and after each meeting.
  • Assist accountants and auditors with preparation of annual financial accounts an requests for information
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget in consultation with the Operations Manager and Society Treasurer
  • Funding & Revenue
  • Assist the Operations Manager and Trustees with the application process for all Funding Applications required by the board of NTSR Inc. including lodging original application through to providing accountability reports on-time.
