Mō te tūranga nei | About the Job:

We're in need of RNFSAs to assist with our gynae surgeries at Ascot Hospital. The RNFSA is a perioperative RN with a post graduate certificate/diploma with a surgical assisting focus; functioning in an expanded practice role to assist in performing safe surgical procedures under the direct supervision of a surgeon and does not concurrently function as a scrub or circulating nurse.

The OR roster at Ascot spans Monday to Saturday, plus some on call, with a mix of 6, 8 & 10 hour shifts. Start times are between 0700 & 1200, with the latest finish at 2030. We have 12 theatres at Ascot including a Robotics programme. All surgeries are elective & the specialties include: Orthopaedic/Spinal, Gynae, Urology, Plastics, Neurology, ENT/ORL. Our post op facilities include an HDU.

  • You are an NZ RN with a current APC
  • You meet the mandatory competencies for RNFSA and hold an Expert level portfolio
  • You have current experience assisting the surgeon in gynaecology surgeries
