Job Description

About the Role:

This role will see you work closely with the branches, customers, and our inventory team to advise on best practices. As well as other duties including:
Seeking out better buying opportunities to maximise returns

  • Assisting with streamlining stock stock-taking process and purchasing
  • Managing supplier relationships and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Co-ordinate purchasing of stock from suppliers to maintain stock levels and satisfy customer demand across the HUB with particular focus on scarce product
  • Establish and coordinate buying opportunities to secure rebates/discounts across the HUB
  • Cycle Counting, Stocking and Rotating products on shelves, Loading / Unloading products and whatever else is necessary within the branch.
  • Monitor shrinkage levels, take appropriate and timely action to investigate where required and highlight any concerns with the relevant senior managers


This is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, based in Havelock North.


About you:

  • Your eye for detail will help you to ensure that our customers are receiving prompt, efficient service and sound advice while keeping safety at the forefront.
  • Proven experience in Inventory or Inwards Goods – specifically purchasing and stock control
  • Computer and numeracy knowledge, as well as great attention to detail
  • You will also be a solid all-rounder who takes great pride in your work and can multi-task while working to deadlines and remaining calm under pressure.
  • Strong social skills and ability to build rapport with people from all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work autonomously and enjoy being part of a cohesive and successful team.
  • Knowledge of the building industry and ACE software would be an advantage but is not essential.
