Business Consultant – Third Party Channels

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Business Third Party Channels team is responsible for working proactively with intermediaries, such as Mortgage Adviser, supporting their customers and members to establish and build Westpac banking relationships.
The role is also responsible for managing the onboarding of mortgage adviser introduced customers, including smooth handover of the customer to their relationship channel. The Business Consultant is also responsible for other administrative tasks as required to support the third-party channels team, such as follow up of customer documentation and arranging brokerage payments.
You may be required to assist customers with strategically important relationships to Westpac, such as accounting / legal firms and government relationships, which means the ability to deliver professional levels of service at all times is a key requirement of this role.
This role should be seen as the steppingstone to other roles within the Business team such as Senior Business Consultant, Analyst and Business Manager
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and previous experience delighting customers in a service environment
- Two years previous experience working with Business customers is preferred.
- Must be confident making outbound calls to customers and have a reputation for delivering excellent service.
- Ability to have a need based, strategic conversation with a customer vs. purely transactional.
- Knowledge of Westpac’s Business products and services, previous experience with NZLO would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Westpac’s pricing frameworks for loans and deposits, including proficiency with Nomis, and ability to confidently negotiate with customers on pricing.
- An understanding of the NZ economic environment and the dynamics of interest rate markets would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of ICE workflow / case management.
- Well-developed business acumen which translates into the ability to represent Business in a professional manner.
- Highly organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail
- PC literacy, especially MS office applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
