We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established plastic manufacturing company, seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator / Production Assistant to join their growing team. This exciting role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to safety and production are highly valued.

Position Overview:

As a Machine Operator / Production Assistant, you will be directly involved in supporting the production process from start to finish. This will include operating machinery, performing quality checks, assisting in the handling and processing of plastic materials, and ensuring that finished products are packed and ready for distribution. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while adhering to strict health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Machinery: Run and monitor machines used in the production of plastic products, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency and adhere to safety standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet company standards and immediately remove any defective products from the production line to prevent quality issues.
  • Material Handling: Roll, handle, and manually pick various types of plastic materials throughout the production process. Ensure proper handling and movement of raw materials to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Pick and Pack Finished Products: Accurately pick and pack completed plastic products, ensuring packaging meets all specifications and is ready for shipment.
  • Reporting & Safety: Follow all safety protocols, including reporting any items over 25kg to your supervisor immediately to prevent injury or damage. Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Machine Setup & Maintenance: Assist with machine setup, calibration, and basic maintenance when necessary to ensure continuous and efficient production.
  • Work Area Organization: Keep work areas clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards to promote a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to meet production goals and deadlines while fostering a cooperative and positive work environment.
  • Ongoing Training & Development: Participate in regular training sessions to improve your skill set, stay updated on best practices, and enhance overall production efficiency.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a production, machine operation, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect defects and ensure product quality at every stage of the production process.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move materials, with the capability to handle weights up to 25kg as per safety protocols.
  • Safety Compliance: A commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and practices to ensure the well-being of yourself and your coworkers.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to work collaboratively with a team to meet production targets while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Willingness to Learn: A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills, troubleshoot, and adapt to various aspects of the production process.
