Job Description

Are you passionate about sport and recreation, and want to work for one of the most outstanding recreation facilities in the country?

Do you pride yourself on delivering excellent customer service and enjoy dealing with a diverse range of people?

The Ākau Tangi Sports Centre operations team is searching for you - our new operations and customer service superstars - to deliver a high standard of customer service and facility presentation, and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, supporting the delivery of programmes and events. We have two Customer Service Team Member positions available!

As an important part of the Centre staff, you will contribute to smooth operation of Ākau Tangi Sports Centre's reputation of being a high quality playing and training facility for a wide range of indoor sports and activities for sports organisations, schools and communities. The facility is open from 6:00am - 10:00pm weekdays, and 7:00am - 10:00pm weekends seven days.

As a customer service extraordinaire you will be expected to have relevant, applicable and excellent interpersonal skills that will enable you to develop strong working relationships with people. Along with your amazing people skills, you will enjoy the physical part of the role, including efficiently setting up and packing away a variety of sports and event related equipment. Your natural tendency to work well either within a team and independently will shine through and ensure you are an invaluable team member.

This is a permanent part-time role, 13 hours per week, as follows:

Sunday 3.00pm - 10.30pm

Monday 5.00pm - 10.30pm

In exchange for your skills, you'll work for an organisation and a team that really values its people - there's lots of great stuff happening here including team leaders that invest in your personal development, discounted gym memberships and the ability to upskill. You will really value becoming one of our team.

If we've described you, then we'd love to hear from you.
