- We're offering a competitive salary starting from $77,886 to $86,082 depending on experience
Mō te tūnga | About the role
Join our team at Oranga Tamariki as an Analyst and play a crucial role in enhancing the delivery of social work services through the provision of quality research and analysis. In this position, you will support our frontline teams by strengthening the evidence base within Oranga Tamariki, enabling informed strategic decisions to better serve children and young people. You will be responsible for conducting high-quality research and evaluation, contributing to data collection, analysis, and reporting of results to inform decisions focused on improving the future wellbeing of children and young people.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the wider Strategy, Insights and Performance Team to deliver robust, evidence-informed advice, research, and analytics. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people while being part of a supportive and dynamic team.
This role is based in our Wellington office. Due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role, it will be beneficial for you to have the close support of the team around you. Candidates for this role are required to already be based in Wellington or be willing to relocate to Wellington for this opportunity.

Key requirements of the role include:
- Research and Evaluation skills and knowledge
- Ability to work with complex data and produce analysis and insights from this data
- Ability to write and communicate in a user friendly and accessible manner
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) environment and/or potential to learn and work in the IDI
- Familiar with data programming languages e.g. SQL, Python, R etc.
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
