Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Position Overview: As a Network Infrastructure Design Engineer, you will be responsible for architecture, building, and documenting complex data centre network solutions. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure alignment with best practices and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Design:

  • Create and maintain detailed design documents, diagrams, engineering specifications, configurations, technical implementation plans, troubleshooting and support guides, system metrics, project planning, and information for existing and emerging Data Centre technologies.
  • Design solutions to support predictable environments.
  • Demonstrate innovative and pioneering thinking, translating these into business solutions and working practice improvements.


Delivery:

  • Ensure build activities are completed in alignment with architecture, network, and security standards as well as best practices.
  • Perform problem diagnosis, initiate problem resolution, and provide life-cycle support.
  • Advise as an expert on technical and operational processes to meet project requirements.
  • Act as a key contributor in providing guidance to other groups.
  • Maintain a reputation for quality and timely delivery of tasks.


Leadership and Partnerships:

  • Manage positive and effective relationships and work in partnership with leadership, colleagues, vendors, and contractors.
  • Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing stable, secure, and manageable solutions.


Project Support:
Collaborate constructively and positively with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Relevant advanced Networking Professional or Expert level qualifications.
  • Additional certifications in Palo-Alto, NSX-T, BIG-IP are advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of current and emerging technologies.
  • Conversant in best practices appropriate to network and security design.
  • Understanding of hardware and software performance and scaling limitations.
  • Scripting skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to develop, build, and lead relationships at all levels of an organisation.
