Position Overview
In this full-time role, you will be responsible for transitioning design concepts into master artwork files, managing packaging designs across global markets, and maintaining the highest standards of artwork execution. The ideal candidate will bring expert packaging knowledge, strong technical expertise, and a passion for creating impactful packaging solutions for Baby products.

Position Impact
As a Senior Packaging Artworker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful rollout of packaging designs across multiple global markets, ensuring that the integrity of each design is maintained throughout the production process. By working closely with cross-functional teams in Auckland and China, you will contribute directly to the success of Baby product launches, supporting ZURU's global brand image and helping streamline packaging production. Your ability to manage complex artwork tasks while maintaining meticulous attention to detail will directly impact the quality, consistency, and efficiency of ZURU’s packaging across all markets.

Responsibilities

  • Transition design concept files from the NPD design team into master finished artwork files and oversee artwork rollout to ensure the integrity of approved design concepts is maintained.
  • Apply design concepts to different dielines for various packaging formats, create master assets for brand asset libraries, including typesetting and language translations, and adjust designs as necessary for print production across global markets.
  • Work closely with the Design Project Manager in Auckland and the artwork team in China to facilitate packaging designs for Baby brands and communicate effectively with the Creative Production Director and retouching team in China.
  • Review and log supplied dielines to ensure adherence to ZURU standards, and review all artwork proofs created by the China team to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Develop and update packaging artwork guidelines, brand asset libraries, and artwork guardbook libraries, and train new artwork team members on packaging standards and processes.
  • Print physical proofs on in-house printers, troubleshoot any printing issues, and provide technical artwork and print production support to the wider Baby design team.
  • Oversee ongoing amendments to packaging artwork and manage retouching of baby images for packaging when required.


Required

  • 5–8 years industry experience in packaging artwork
  • A relevant qualification in Graphic Design from a tertiary level institute or equivalent
  • Excellent technical knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong layout and typographical skills and knowledge of fonts, illustration skills are an added advantage
  • Proficient in image retouching, colour correction and colour workflow management
  • Working knowledge of all packing print processes and prepress file preparation
