Are you passionate about water safety and sustainability? Join our Regional Operations team within Healthy Waters & Flood Resilience as a Senior Healthy Waters Specialist and lead the charge in ensuring our stormwater dams are managed to the highest industry standards.
In this role, you will spearhead the development and implementation of our Dam Safety Management System (DSMS) for stormwater dams, oversee surveillance programs, emergency management processes, and comprehensive reporting in line with NZ Society on Large Dams (NZSOLD) guidelines.
You will ensure compliance with all legislative requirements, prioritise health & safety, and manage financial aspects effectively, while fostering strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. He kōrero mōu: About you
We’re looking for an engineer with extensive expertise in civil/environmental engineering and a strong background in the delivery of stormwater ponds design, operations of ponds or dam’s infrastructure.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in stormwater with at least 3 years in the specialist area of dam, geotechnical or pond management programming.
The successful candidate also needs to be comfortable working closely with internal and external stakeholders and the community, ensuring strong engagement and interaction with those stakeholders.
We will also be looking for experience in:
- Effective leadership in developing programmes
- Local government and associated political environment, as well as public and stakeholder consultation/interaction
- Good understanding of New Zealand Society on Large Dams (NZSOLD) guideline as well as relevant sections of Resource Management Act and Building Act related to dams.
- Experience in site safety and safety-in-design experience, contract management & administration, as well as business case development and benefit identification
