We have an opportunity for a General Manager – Core Ledger Replacement to join our Customer Products & Services team.

We spoke with our Executive Manager, Customer Products & Services, and he let us know the following about the tūranga (role):

What are some of the key responsibilities the General Manager will own?

Responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of key programs that deliver the core ledger replacement, ensuring they align with BNZ’s strategic priorities and deliver the intended outcomes.
Accountable for managing the program's budget, resources, and operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial viability of the program
Ensuring the program's deliverables meet quality standards, which includes overseeing the testing domain, UAT, and ensuring the program meets its milestones and benefit targets
You will work closely with all enterprise stakeholders, including delivery partners, to ensure a high level of collaboration and communication to meet programme milestone delivery.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

This is a newly created position here at BNZ responsible for the Bank’s most significant programme, the core ledger replacement. You will work closely with all enterprise stakeholders, including delivery partners, to ensure a high level of collaboration and communication to meet programme milestone delivery.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We are looking for someone who is proficient in leading and nurturing a team in a matrix leadership model, spanning across various capabilities, and implementing change through agile practices. You will also have extensive experience (10 – 15 years) in in Product or Product Proposition related senior leadership roles. Experience in understanding and navigating a heavily regulated environment is desirable.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

Success will be achieved by delivering great customer & colleague outcomes through the development and implementation of product simplification, migration, and delivery of the core ledger.
