About the role

Reporting to the company Director, you will be expected to deliver excellence in the execution of Quantity Surveying services. The primary objective of the QS role is to provide outstanding service to clients, while ensuring the successful development and management of project lifecycle costs, and optimising project budgets. You will be part of a close knit, supportive team and have access to a variety of projects.

Day to day responsibilities

• Estimating / Quantity Surveying for building projects
• Proposal preparation, job delivery, work planning and financial management tasks
• Technical leadership in the areas of cost planning, procurement and post contract
• Demonstrate initiative and provide practical advice to identify solutions to job specific challenges
• Work closely with company Director, Senior QS and Project Managers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders

About You

We are looking for either a strong, confident Intermediate level QS or early Senior level QS for this position. To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:

• Specific NZ industry experience
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in Construction setting
• Bachelors Degree or relevant qualification in QS or Construction
• Ideally experience in both commercial and residential construction projects
• Strong relationship building skills and ability to work closely with key stakeholders
• Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously
• Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a clear and calm mindset when assessing requirements and priorities
• Ability to optimise all aspects of project life cycle costs and value management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good computer literacy

You will also need:

to be a NZ Citizen, resident or already hold the appropriate Visa to work in NZ
to have a full clean NZ Drivers licence
