About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader – SCADA/NMS, you will work in a team that ensures that our SCADA/NMS systems support current and future Control Centre performance requirements.
This is a fascinating area of engineering working in a dynamic environment where you will be involved in working on new technology, cyber security and other challenging projects.
For the right person, there is the potential for this role to be a “Senior” SCADA/NMS Engineer, so we welcome applications from candidates of all experience levels.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the NMS database and diagrams
- Ensure the functionality, reliability and performance of our Network Management System (NMS)
- Support new system developments and user requirements
- Train staff to develop competence in using the NMS
- Maintain and deliver SCADA data
Skills and experience
- A tertiary level qualification in power engineering or computing – preferably a BEng or BSc
- Experience working with SCADA, IT and Communication systems
- Proven technical experience, with an emphasis on network control and technology – experience in an Electricity Distribution environment would be fantastic
- Be an innovator, able to think outside the square and solve the difficult problems!
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will be a Registered Electrician or Protection Technician equivalent with a good understanding of protection systems, communication systems, experience in operating and installing MV switchgear transformers, control and protection and other network related technologies.
