Urban Plus is a profit oriented, multi-disciplined property company, wholly owned by Hutt City Council (HCC). At their core is a commitment to providing high quality residential property development, rental housing portfolio management and strategic property services.

The company uses its business and property acumen to generate a financial return for the purpose of growing the housing portfolio, while at the same time ensuring they meet their clients' social objectives, particularly in relation to the provision of social housing and working with Community Housing Providers.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will work within a small Development Team on a variety of projects and to the overall development programme. This may include scoping and acquiring strategic development sites, portfolio analysis and planning, property divestment, new project scoping, business case development, budget preparation, programme development, Health & Safety management, construction management and overall project management through to its conclusion.

About you

  • Demonstrated residential construction project management experience
  • Innovative with a "developer's eye" and knowledge of the local (Lower Hutt) property market would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret plans/specifications with ease
  • Financial literacy and the ability to manage multiple budgets and projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to construct well thought out business cases
  • Self-starter/goal seeking with well-developed commercial acumen
  • The ability to problem solve, use initiative and display sound judgement
  • Highly developed relationship building capabilities
  • Able to see the big-picture while also managing detail
  • Tertiary qualification in property, building, construction or related field is desirable
