Mo te tūranga | About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Insights Specialist to join our dynamic Financial Crime Quality Assurance (QA) team. In this role, you will be instrumental in performing advanced analysis, developing predictive models, and providing tailored insights that drive data-driven decisions to enhance our financial crime oversight.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct deep-dive investigations into financial crime compliance issues, uncovering the underlying causes of risks and errors to support process improvements.
  • Apply statistical techniques to predict potential risks and unusual activities, assisting in the identification of customers engaged in suspicious activities or compliance breaches.
  • Group cases or customers based on shared characteristics to facilitate targeted reviews and oversight aligned with financial crime risk categories.
  • Design, develop, and maintain execution reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights to senior management on the performance of the Financial Crime QA function.
  • Deliver tailored insights that enable the Financial Crime QA team to make informed decisions and improve oversight of financial crime activities.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and actionable data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and process improvements.
  • Innovate the QA sampling model and execution reporting processes to adapt to changing financial crime trends and regulations.

  • Strong technical expertise in data analytics, with advanced skills in T-SQL or SAS, Excel (including pivot tables and charts), and either Tableau or Power BI.
  • Demonstrable experience in modelling, analytical techniques, and data mining.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, apply standard analytical techniques, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, comfortable working in challenging and complex environments.
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings to groups.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset, committed to delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely insights.
  • Curiosity and adaptability, with a desire to master new tools as needed.
