ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Group Accountant to join our Finance team in a newly created role. This is an opportunity to take ownership, drive improvements in financial controls and systems. With your exceptional people leadership skills you will lead a dedicated small finance team. You'll be part of an innovative, well-established technology company with significant international customers across SaaS and software project delivery.

As Group Accountant, you’ll play a key role in financial reporting, ensuring compliance across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, and maintaining the integrity of our financial data. Your expertise will contribute to the strategic direction of the finance team while mentoring and supporting team members to achieve excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee monthly and annual accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Allocate tasks within the finance team to optimise efficiency and meet deadlines.
• Prepare high-level financial reports and contribute to month-end processes.
• Strengthen internal controls to safeguard financial data integrity.
• Lead income tax return processes, liaising with external advisors.
• Mentor and develop the finance team to achieve outstanding performance.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will bring:
• 4+ years post-qualification experience, ideally in medium to large commercial organisations.
• A background in financial systems, controls, and audits within larger organisations.
• Knowledge of taxation across NZ, UK, and Australia (preferred).
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coach a small team with empathy and confidence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
