Join our dedicated team at Rimutaka Prison in Upper Hutt, Wellington, where you’ll deliver primary health care to people in custody. From managing acute and chronic conditions to responding to emergencies and promoting health education, every day offers a diverse and meaningful practice.

This is a full-time position for 3 months, offering the chance to experience a unique work environment. For nurses travelling from outside the area, travel and accommodation will be provided.

Location: Rimutaka Prison, Upper Hutt, Wellington.

Shifts: Flexible rostered shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties

What You Will Bring | Nga tohungatanga mo tenei turanga:

  • Current registration and a practising certificate as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Cultural competency and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
  • Current CPR certification (or willingness to refresh).
  • Experience in mental health, emergency, or primary care settings is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
