BestStart Railway Road is seeking a passionate Caregiver to join our energetic and tight-knit team.

Best Start Railway Road is in a rural setting and on the outskirts of Palmerston North, but part of an industrial estate. Situated by a number of transportation businesses, the centre has a rich localised curriculum that utilises the local airport, Norwood, farming vehicles, trains and cars, that catches the curioscity of the children.

Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community. Building relationships and working in partnership with our families is at the heart of what we do at BestStart Railway Road.

We are seeking a Caregiver to join our team and actively engage in all aspects of center life, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care and curriculum.

This is a permanent position working between 40 hours per week.

About the Role:

As a caregiver at BestStart, you will have the incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children, providing them with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We believe in fostering a love for learning, creativity, and exploration in our tamariki.

Reporting to our Centre Manager and working within a close-knit team you will be joining a dedicated team of Teachers who provide quality care and education to our tamariki.

Here’s what you’ll do on a day-to day basis:

Provide amazing care and education to our tamariki
Champion the team spirit and engage in activities that empower and extend tamariki’s learning
Fully participate in centre activities across all classrooms and cover staff breaks where necessary
Support centre operations at all levels

Role requirements:

Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. An ECE qualification is not required for this role, but a natural affinity with children – especially infants and toddlers, and experience working with children under five is a must. You’ll also have a high level of initiative and an ability to take direction from others.
