The Operational Resilience team is responsible for business continuity management and planning, ensuring a robust testing regime is in place and review the quality of business unit planning and testing. They work closely with other business units to assess the severity and impact of plausible disruption scenarios, put together response plans and test these on a regular basis. Operational Resilience is all about pro-active disruption avoidance and ensuring efficient crisis management during disruption events.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
In your new role as Manager Scenario Analysis, you will lead operational resilience scenario analysis programme for WNZL, ensuring processes are in place to meet policy requirements and effective risk management through thorough scenario analysis. The role is a key role within Operational Resilience, ensuring that enterprise-wide scenarios are maintained, refreshed and exercised across the bank at enterprise and business unit level.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities could include:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to business units on the requirements for scenario identification, analysis, testing and business continuity readiness.
  • Design, implement and embed a robust scenario testing regime, involving business units, technology, all crisis resolution business functions, and line 2 Risk.
  • Continue to build on a portfolio of severe but plausible scenarios and ensure enterprise wide events are considered and have a robust crisis response framework in place.
  • Build strong partnerships across the business units to provide well-balanced, researched, and expansive support on all things Scenario Analysis related.

  • Extensive business continuity/operational resilience experience at first and/or second line of defence (5+ years).
  • Strong thought leader and communicator.
  • Background and experience in change management practices desirable
  • Demonstrated capability to manage activities related to business impacting risks and operational resilience, a sense of urgency and the ability to perform well under pressure and in conditions of uncertainty.
  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business trade-offs, generate out-of-the-box solutions, proactively identify and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to lead and influence decisions and actions of others, including internal business partners, external stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Demonstrable ability to visualise Scenario Analysis in the context of wider Operational Resilience and Business Disruption Risk mitigation.
  • Experience in financial services preferred.
