ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is an exciting time to join Timescapes while they are rapidly growing into overseas markets and to be part of a close-knit team, where innovation thrives, and quality is key. They pride themselves on their collaborative, growth-focused culture that celebrates problem-solving, and curiosity.

You’ll be reporting directly to the CTO and will be take ownership of the hardware development lifecycle as the primary technical lead.

Reporting to the CTO, you will:

• Lead the full product development lifecycle from concept to production, including electronics/PCB design, firmware/software, and enclosure design.
• Lead a refresh of current camera hardware to significantly shrink the size, expand battery life & reduce solar power-demand, improve environmental robustness, add capabilities such as GPS, eSIM, wifi & video support.
• Develop and maintain low-power embedded Linux systems and associated low-level firmware for camera operation and communication.
• Create and maintain higher-level software applications to run on the camera system.
• Leading a refresh of current hardware to enhance robustness, capability, and reliability, while supporting current hardware products.
• Understand and manage regulatory complaince testing & certifcation.
• Serve as primary technical lead for external industrial design and contract manufacturing (CM) partners.
• Collaborate with manufacturing houses to oversee prototype builds, testing procedures, and production transition.
• Establish relationships with suppliers locally and overseas for core components such as batteries, modules, and cable assemblies.
• Work with supply chain and logistics teams to support production, component sourcing, and distribution.
• Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, build instructions, test plans, and manufacturing guides.

ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in embedded hardware development.
• Hands on experience with Yocto embedded Linux development.
• Understanding of DFM/DFT principles.
• Experience with Altium Designer and C#/.Net would be beneficial
• Strong experience working in startup / small business environments
