Excellence in education is part of our mission at Ngā Tamariki Pūawai ō Tāmaki - Auckland Kindergarten Association, Over the past year, the Association has worked hard to realign with the philosophy of the kindergarten movement by moving back to having a 100% qualified teaching workforce. As part of this movement, we now have a part time qualified teacher positions available.
The kindergarten
Are you a dedicated and dynamic Kaiako with a passion for shaping young minds?
Glen Innes Kindergarten is seeking a nurturing and creative Kaiako to join our supportive and fun teaching team. As a Kaiako, you'll play a pivotal role in creating and engaging an inclusive learning environment for tamariki aged 2-5 years. With a strong emphasis on celebrating diversity, you'll help young learners develop essential skills while fostering a sense of belonging and understanding.

The role
Glen Innes Kindergarten is currently looking for a part time, Monday to Friday (20 hours) ECE Kaiako to join us and help us contribute to the high level of service that we are proud to provide our local community. If you are a registered and certificated ECE Teacher, with your current first aid this is a fantastic opportunity to join and experience the AKA.
Our ideal candidate will also:
- be a team player, flexible and independent
- be someone who intrinsically understands our teaching philosophy of play-based learning
- Inclusive and sensitive to the diverse learning requirements of all ākonga
- share our commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, informing and leading bicultural practice
- have demonstrable skills in relationship building and excellent communication skills
- have strong capability in planning, assessment and documentation
- value the use of ICT as a teaching tool, utilising a range of available technological resources to extend children's learning and improve teaching practice
- have a strong focus on inclusiveness, recognising and valuing the rich diversity of the tamariki, whānau and local community
- enjoy working directly with our tamariki and love getting your hands dirty
- be passionate about nature and committed to sustainability, which you naturally weave into your teaching and learning experiences with children
