An opportunity has arisen in our small family business, located in the heart of Henderson, West Auckland for a Sewing Machinist. We make residential and commercial products using industrial textiles, such as canvas and PVC, as well as lighter weight textiles. This includes bags, covers, umbrella canopies and much, much more.

This role would be for 2 days per week initially (with potential for more hours subject to availability).

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

• Ability to work alone or as part of a team (on large runs of a product);
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;
• Sense of humor;
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, suppliers, and colleagues;
• Experience in handling industrial machines (safety stitch, binder and walking foot).

This role would suit someone who wants to build on their current skills, and enjoys a varied workload.
