At Civic Waste we're a long standing supplier of services to NZ cities. We contract to Councils and Private Companies for waste removal, road/hard surface sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more!

Due to an internal promotion we are now looking for a Team Leader, with a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role. Experienced leaders who have worked in an industrial environment or Council contracting would suit this role.

This role will involve acting as a role model for team members while supporting the Assistant Branch Manager and Operations Manager in leading and directing the activities of staff reporting to the role. You will be working with three other team leaders (reporting to the Assistant Branch Manager), and will be responsible for a work area and team, with most of your day spent out and about in the field checking on people and quality of work.

Additional duties will include:

  • Support Assistant Branch Manager with planning of weekly roster and overseeing leave
  • Undertaking field audits and handling customer escalations
  • Carry out scheduled reporting requirements
  • Carry out staff 1 to 1's and team meetings
  • Physically be able to support the team as and when required
  • Participate in the induction and training of new staff
  • Promote process and cost improvement opportunities

You must also be comfortable working one weekend day every two weeks.
