  • Multi-asset class focus, spanning both listed and direct investments
  • Support the assessment, due diligence, and execution of new investments

Our client is a purpose-driven organisation responsible for managing a significant portfolio of commercial entities and investments across Aotearoa. With holdings in sectors such as tourism, seafood, property, and farming—as well as private equity, listed equities, and direct investments—the organisation plays a vital role in safeguarding and growing intergenerational wealth

The organisation holds long-term interests in several leading New Zealand-owned businesses and is guided by values that place future generations at the heart of decision-making.

The role

Reporting to the General Manager – Investment, the Investment Analyst/Associate will deliver high-quality analysis and reporting across public and private financial markets, supporting the executive team. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines financial modelling, corporate finance, and investment analysis. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and analysing investment and growth opportunities
  • Preparing business cases for investment decisions
  • Monitoring and reporting against the organisation’s investment framework
  • Supporting broader strategic and financial initiatives

About you

We are seeking candidates with a genuine interest in investment management, with 2–6 years of experience in Big Four corporate finance/M&A advisory, investment banking, private equity, or strategy consulting. We also welcome interest from returning New Zealanders currently working offshore.

You will also bring:

  • Strong valuation, financial modelling, and analytical skills
  • Experience with equity research, due diligence, or investment reporting
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • A values-based approach, with an understanding of or willingness to learn about te ao Māori, te reo, and tikanga
  • A commitment to contributing to a long-term investment strategy with intergenerational impact

This is a unique opportunity to be part of an organisation that operates with purpose and cultural integrity, offering a supportive, high-performing, and inclusive work environment.
