Job Description
Position Overview
Massey University is seeking a Statistical Data Analyst to support our enrolment forecasting, strategic initiatives, and key university reporting purposes. This role is integral to the preparation of the Massey University Annual Report and Investment Plan, as well as providing data for university rankings, benchmarking, and various other analytical needs.
This is a full time (37.5h p/w) fixed term position until the end of January 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support enrolment forecasting and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to key university reporting, including the Annual Report and Investment Plan.
- Provide data for university rankings and benchmarking.
- Offer statistical support and analysis for a range of purposes.
What We’re Looking For:
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for data.
- Expertise in handling, interpreting, analysing, and presenting data clearly and simply.
- Preferred experience in official statistics, statistical modelling, and/or data visualisation.
- Several years of experience in data, business, or statistical analysis, data management, or business intelligence.
- A background in the tertiary education sector is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, business intelligence, business analytics, or data science/analysis is essential. A postgraduate qualification in these areas is desirable but not essential.
Location and Flexibility:
- This role can be based at any of our three campuses in Auckland, Palmerston North, or Wellington, with flexibility in working arrangements. You will work closely with Senior Analysts and Analysts within the Strategy and Planning team.
