Job Description

  • Full-time hours (at least 30 hours per week) permanent employment
  • $25- $29.66 per hour
  • Canterbury location


The Company:
Our client has over 30 years in the scrap metal business.
Our client is hot on health and safety, supports and encourages career development and are on the hunt for new team members.

The opportunity:

  • Sort and processing metals
  • Operate bailers, guillotines and other machinery to cut or shape metal
  • Assisting welders, including cleaning and polishing welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding
  • Dealing with customers


Due to the nature of the job, applicants will ideally have 1-year relevant work experience to mitigate any risk of injury or death from using machinery.

Located in Hornby, working Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm.

The position is primarily outdoors, and on those rainy days - you'll get hot soup for lunch!

With frequent work shouts and a great family orientated culture, you'll be part of the family!

To be successful in this role you will require skills and core competencies in:

  • Reliable- you turn up on time, every time
  • Team player
  • Good communicator
  • Forklift license/experience ideal but not required
  • Full C1 license is a benefit
  • Mechanically minded would be a bonus
  • Dedication- this role is a career on offer with a specific 12-month training program
  • Must be able to pass a pre employment drug test
  • Must be able to pass a MOJ check
